CCW Renewal Class – Frequently Asked Questions

Which gun should I use for my CCW renewal class?

We strongly recommend using the pistol you typically carry or are most comfortable with, as you will have to pass a live fire qualification.

How far in advance do I need to book my CCW renewal class?

Our calendar of available classes on this page shows our next open time and date. You can reserve your spot directly online or by calling our team at 702-425-5312. Depending on the availability of our certified instructors, you could book your session as soon as the next day, or you may need to consider a later date.

Can I take an online course for my CCW permit renewal?

Classes must be in person as there is a live fire qualification requirement (per state law). While we absolutely encourage you to study reputable online resources for your own knowledge, there are no state certified CCW courses that are available entirely online in Nevada.

How often do CCW permit holders need to renew their licenses?

Concealed carry permits are valid for five years from the issue date (unless revoked). If you do not renew your permit before it expires, you will need to pay a late fee. If your permit is currently expired, even if you’ve applied for renewal, it is illegal for you to carry a concealed firearm until you have your new permit.

How much does renewing a Nevada concealed firearms permit cost?

The cost of the Firearms Safety Course (this class) plus $25 for the renewal application and $39 for the FBI background check. If your permit is expired, but for less than a year, then there is an additional $15 late renewal fee.
